3 inch movements

Post  Jagunco on Wed Aug 29, 2012 5:55 am

Yup I read your facebook. The obvious joke aside, and bearing in mind that I have always done the full thing, that once I was told off for doing press ups like that off a qualified fitness coach....

The worlds going to hell big fellow... straight to hell

It doesn't surprise me that a so called fitness coach would say that. Some of the most egregious mistakes I've seen in gyms are watching them teach someone.

You can't develop the muscle over the entire range of motion if you're not training it over the entire range. If I have to grab someone in that first range and haul on him there's no functional strength until he gets into the range I've trained...useless egotists.

People doing Chin ups are hands down the worst offenders followed by bicep curls.

But Nick....bicep curls are so important for strength training and martial art training. Everyone knows that "big guns" mean you are the toughest guy in the planet!

Hi Nick,

I haven't saw what's it is you guys are talking about on FB. and don't want to get the wrong end of the stick. Smile

You're not keen on pull-ups/chin-ups period. Or is it in context of this topic title of 3 inch movement?

warmest wishes

I've seen Nick's "3 inch movement" video.

We shouldn't judge him,it was a long time ago and he was vulnerable and needed work...any work No

CPP

Nick said on facebook that a lot of people at his gym were doing very abreviated movements in their exercises rather than the whole range of movement.

For instance I was berated because while doing press ups when from arms straight up untill my chest brushed the floor. Everyone else were doing them short and sharp.

Nick noticed tha people doing chins ups were doing a smilar thing and we were putting this section of the world to rights...

I was watching what must have been the worlds most skinny bloke a few weeks back as he did bicep curls with 40kg plus the bar.

His arm movement must have been less than three inches but the range of motion the rest of his body was going through was incredible to behold.

Was this a new kind of all over apart from bicep workout I haven't heard of I wonder What a Face
