Principles in the martial arts

Post  GrapplingPeter on Thu Jan 20, 2011 10:39 am

Hi Dave!

Sorry to bother you again. I just wanted to hear your take on principles in the martial arts. Do you have any. When I think about principles, I mean alignement and other stuff.

I also wanted to hear if you know anything about Systema and their use of principles and if so, do you know if they can be applicable to other martial arts. As Ive read on the net, the Vasiliev-Ryabko-version talkes about breathing, posture, relaxation and continous movement, all which sound great. I also know about the R.O.S.S and Scott Sonnon talkes about the same, but also spirals, wedge and other biomechanical things. How do you regard this? Is biomecanical principles something you teach?

Best regards

Peter
